Origin Story
It’s rare to find a problem that hasn’t already been solved in 2026. We live in a world where everything is outsourced. We’ve got a guy for everything. I don’t even do my own grocery shopping anymore. Don’t judge, I know I’m not alone here! If there’s an inconvenience, there is a fix. I was surprised when I continued to run into a problem without a solution - trash day.
My parents moved into a new gated community in Palm Beach Gardens. They are from Jersey and like many others, decided they were over the cold and bought a place to escape to in Winter. My Dad is still working, so they travel back and forth, living in Florida from Thursdays-Sundays. Again, this isn’t unusual. But this is where I discovered one of Florida’s biggest pain points.
You see, my parents travelled home every Sunday, but trash day in their community is on Mondays. Every week, like clockwork, they would be stuck with bins full of trash and no one to bring them to the curb. Sometimes they’d ask neighbors, but that was unreliable and awkward. I’d drive upwards of an hour to help them out of the jam when I could, but it became increasingly obvious that this issue wasn’t going to go away.
My family couldn’t be the only people experiencing this headache, so I started asking around. I spoke with neighbors in the community and surrounding neighborhoods, it was clear this is an ongoing problem for residents all over Florida.
So my husband and I created a solution.
In fact, we created a whole damn app.
It’s called Swoop.
It’s like Uber for your trash cans, you never have to worry about them getting home safely. Our drivers bring your cans to and from the curb. All you need to do is download Swoop and schedule services.
No more asking favors, no more thinking about trash day.
Swoop. Never miss trash day again.
